To ensure that our kits, parts and tarps arrive with our customers in the same condition that they leave our workshop is imperative and in order to make sure that happens we have a Dispatch and Logistics team who work together to plan every step. This includes the packaging that items are placed in, the couriers that we work with and the transportation methods, every stage of every journey.
We have been speaking to the team to collate FIVE TOP TIPS for couriering worldwide and wanted to share them with you.
- For our EU customers, employ a clearing agent. They will know the process and regulations inside and out and help to avoid any penalties and ensure all the right documentation is complete.
- Again, for our EU customers ensure you have a valid Economic Operators Registration and Identification (EORI) number, this is mandatory for customs clearance within the European Union.
- Don’t forget that as well as the cost of goods there will also be duty and VAT to consider, be aware of what those costs will be.
- Have a forklift ready, it will make delivery far easier, especially for large systems or high quantity orders.
- Internationally, it is more cost effective to deliver into a port or airport, local transportation costs are more reasonable when arranged locally than internationally.
