Transcover UK Warranty for Hook and Skip Systems

Terms and Conditions

Transcover warrant that if any part of the equipment becomes defective due to faulty manufacture or materials, within the stated warranty period, and from the date of Warranty Registration, the part will be repaired or replaced free of charge.

1.0 WARRANTY

1.1. Warranty cover only applies on the understanding that the customer accepts the following terms and conditions. The warranty hereunder represents the full and exclusive liability of Transcover in relation to the products, unless otherwise explicitly agreed in writing.

1.2. Transcover makes every effort to ensure the products contain sound materials and good workmanship. The company guarantees the goods against defects notified to the company within the stated warranty period.

1.3. Transcover will adjudicate all claims in accordance with the warranty terms and conditions. Transcover or a Transcover Authorised Service Centre or nominee will carry out repairs agreed under Warranty Cover.

2.0 GENERAL

2.1. Warranty consideration will only be given providing the customer advises and complies with the Transcover Warranty procedure. No repair, dismantling or replacement of parts is to be undertaken without obtaining authorisation from Transcover or a Transcover Authorised Service Centre or nominee. Failure to comply will render the claim invalid. Transcover with holds the right to revise this procedure without prior notice.

2.2. Whilst rectifying the customer’s equipment, Transcover or a Transcover Authorised Service Centre or nominee shall be entitled to carry out, at the expense of the customer, any operation incidental to performance of, but not part of, the company’s obligations under this warranty including the dismantling, assembly and carriage of parts.

2.3. Parts replaced under warranty shall become the property of Transcover and should be kept for 90 days. Failure to keep these parts may result in rendering the claim invalid.

2.4. The warranty period for a replacement/repaired part shall expire on the same date as the warranty period for the part replaced.

2.5. Any cost involved in the collection or delivery of any equipment or spare part to Transcover or a Transcover Authorised Service Centre or nominee shall be borne by the customer.

2.6. Transcover liability under the guarantee is limited to the repair and replacement of defective parts or repairs caused by defective workmanship.

2.7. Equipment requiring attendance under the terms of this Warranty must be made available within normal working hours 08.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday (not including Bank holidays).

3.0 EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY

3.1. Replacements necessitated by wear and tear incurred in normal usage.

3.2. Claims will be rejected and Transcover will relinquish liability if failure is due to misuse, negligence, accident, alteration, lack of proper maintenance, or the use of parts not approved by Transcover.

3.3. Repairs performed by Third Parties not Authorised by Transcover, adversely affecting the equipment components, performance and reliability in the judgement of Transcover.

3.4. Failure caused by Chemical Corrosion, Physical Erosion, Fire, Theft, Freezing, Vandalism, Terrorism, Riot, Explosion, Lightening, Earthquake, Windstorm, Hail, Water Ingress, Flood or repairs by non-Transcover Authorised Service Centre or nominee.

3.5. Loss of time, loss of use of product, inconvenience, lodging, food or other consequential loss that may result from a failure.

3.6. All issues relating to paint and coatings.

3.7   Warranty Policies are not transferable in the event of the customer disposing of the unit.

4.0 CUSTOMER’S RESPONSIBILITY

4.1. The customer is responsible for ensuring regular maintenance and services are carried out as specified in the ‘Operators Manual’ applicable to the equipment and the retention of documented service history. Failure to maintain the equipment correctly renders the Warranty Claim / Policy invalid.

4.2. To ensure their equipment has been registered for warranty within 28 working days of the equipment hand over, using the warranty registration procedure described in operator’s handbook.

4.3. To assess and service the equipment and upload its annual service inspection requirements to www.transcover.com/serviceinspection as listed in the Operators Manual, within ten working days of the anniversary date of Warranty registration. If the inspection shows that materials/parts have to be replaced, this must be done within ten working days of the annual inspection. Transcover genuine parts must be used.

4.4. The customer is responsible for the equipment being used for its intended purpose only, and being operated in accordance with the issued ‘Operator’s Manual’.

4.5. In the event of failure, the customer must:-

a) Use all responsible means to protect the equipment from further damage

b) Notify Transcover or a Transcover Authorised Service Centre or nominee as soon as possible

c) Present where requested, proof of Warranty coverage and equipment service history

NOTE

The customer must reimburse Transcover for all costs the latter may incur, as the result of any Warranty Claim in respect of a defect not covered by this Warranty. An order number will need to be provided prior to work being carried out in some instances in order to cover the cost should the fault be determined as non-warranty related.

5.0 INCLUSIONS

5.1. All assemblies and components are covered for 12 months from date of warranty registration, except the following parts, which include: Winch Cables, Hydraulic Filter Elements, Hydraulic Oil, Batteries, Flexible hoses, Tarpaulins, Sensors and similar items.

5.2. All labour is covered for 12 months only, for the repair of the assemblies and components as listed in 5.1.

5.3. All of the following items are covered for 36 months (excluding labour in 2nd and 3rd year) from date of warranty registration:

a) AutoCover/ UniCover

Upper arms, crossbar, lower arms, mounting brackets, cylinders

b) UnderCover

Upper arms, crossbar, lower arms, mounting brackets, cylinders

c) Skiploader

Upper arms, crossbar, lower arms, mounting brackets, spring assembly, U-MOTOR-01 motor assembly, cylinders

NOTE: These terms apply to all products supplied throughout the U.K. by Transcover or a Transcover Authorised Dealer and are subject to our Terms and Conditions.
