Transcover unveiled their URBAN™ range of sheeting systems at Freight in the City in London this week.
The stand at Londons iconic Alexandra Palace showed our new high mount URBAN™ TipperCover and our URBAN™ UnderCover hooklift sheeting systems, both of which have been designed and made by Transcover in the UK to improve driver visibility and reduce low level collision points for cyclists and pedestrians.
The URBAN™ TipperCover is a new protected design by Transcover adapting their traditional front to rear sheeting frame so the tubular steel arms to begin above the key 2m point; whilst keeping the top rail free for loading.
Colin Bartram from Transcover explains the reasons behind these new innovations; “Traditional sheeting system frames have always travelled outside of the containers that they cover and at low level so we decided it was time to revisit these areas and design a product range that makes room for other road users.” He continues; “London is not unique in having narrow streets and high levels of pedestrians and cyclists, however we are seen as leading the world when it comes to innovation in these areas and with ambitious International emission targets it is essential that we make other road users feel confident and comfortable sharing the cities busy streets.”
Transcovers unique patented URBAN™ UnderCover hooklift system extends widthways and to a low level over the back of the container where it can be simply attached with straps to the bin before being worked in reverse and neatly retracted back under the container, adding zero truck width and allowing 100% driver visibility along the side of the truck body.
